Symposium organization at the EMRS Fall meeting 2025

For the second consecutive year, ECOMATES team has organized a Symposium during the Fall Meeting of the European Materials Research Society (E-MRS) that will take place from September 15 to 18, 2025 at the main campus of the University of Technology in Warsaw (Poland). The title of the Symposium is “Exploring emerging photo and electrochemical systems for CO2 conversion to fuels and chemicals (II)”
The symposium will dive into the exciting world of CO₂ conversion, where science, technology, and sustainability come together. We will explore the latest breakthroughs in catalyst design and innovative methods—ranging from electrochemical and photocatalytic approaches to biological and chemical pathways—that are turning CO₂ into valuable fuels and chemicals.
Beyond the lab, the discussions will focus on scaling up these technologies, tackling engineering and economic challenges, and examining their integration with renewable energy. Life cycle and techno-economic perspectives will also be addressed to assess their real environmental and market impact.
Bringing together researchers, engineers, policymakers, and industry leaders, the symposium aims to spark collaboration and fresh ideas. Our goal is to highlight CO₂ conversion as a key tool in the fight against climate change and a pillar of a sustainable energy future.
All ECOMATES DCs submitted an oral or poster contribution to the Symposium. This represents an incredible opportunity for ECOMATES to disseminate the results the project has obtained.
